The Indonesia BAI's 1MTPA SGAR Project contracted by CHALIECO successfully produced the first batch of alumina and officially entered the operation stage after the whole production system became fully operational 24 days following the commencement of operation on December 30, 2024. On January 23, 2025, a ceremony celebrating the production of the first batch of alumina was held, marking another major milestone in CHALIECO's overseas project construction efforts.

BAI, the Owner of the project, expressed warm congratulations on the successful production of the first batch of alumina and sincere gratitude to the team from the Indonesia Alumina Project and all interested parties, hoping that all parties could collaborate closely and continue to contribute to the stable operation of the alumina refinery. The representative from the Indonesia Alumina Project Department extended congratulations on the successful production of the first batch of alumina, expressed gratitude to BAI's team, the PMC team, the subcontractor team, and the commissioning team, and requested to strengthen equipment maintenance, expedite process adjustment and enhance production safety management to ensure the smooth completion of the upcoming milestone.

The project, since it begun production, has increased Indonesia's alumina production self-sufficiency, reduced reliance on external markets, and provided strong support for the development of Indonesia's aluminum industry. In addition, the project demonstrates CHALIECO's robust capabilities and extensive experience in alumina EPC projects, serving as an excellent model for CHALIECO to effectively penetrate the Southeast Asian market under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. CHALIECO will persist in its "Science&Technology + International” Development strategy, continuously strengthen its technological innovation, actively consolidate and expand its overseas construction business while contributing to the promotion of sustainability and digitalization of the non-ferrous metal field.
